Message to students! As an experienced teacher and leader, I have developed a passion and personal commitment for helping my students succeed. My background as an ESL educator and leader of business professionals makes me a perfect match for teaching English to a variety of learners. In my various teaching and professional positions at District 87 Schools (grade 8 special ed and High School ESL), the Regional Office of Education (adults), State Farm Insurance (adults), International School Queretaro (grades 6 & 7 ESL), and Union Gate Conversation Center (child-adult, all levels), I developed highly effective lesson plans, motivational exercises, and performance assessments. I've helped improve test scores and business results, and I have received positive feedback from my students, managers and fellow educators alike for my abilities to develop various groups of learners. My teaching style demonstrates dedication to fostering a positive learning environment for all students and maximizing individual student performance. The accomplishments I'm most proud of in my teaching career are empowering others to feel valued and helping them gain skills that allow them to better their lives. In addition to my formal teaching experiences, I served 3+ years as a volunteer teacher to second language learners from Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Chile, Russia, Germany, India, China and Japan. I have spent time in Mexico (3 times), Ecuador and Costa Rica and currently reside in Queretaro, Qro. (for 2 years), which allows me to easily adapt to, appreciate and communicate in various cultures. It has always been a life goal of mine to have a career as an ESL instructor. Now I am pursuing this life-long passion.
